CHALLENGE
Remote communities in sparsely populated areas such as forests, islands, or borderlands often struggle to access economic opportunities and medical care. Healthcare rationing and physical distance can delay or restrict the services they receive.
OPPORTUNITY
Training local people and enhancing facilities within communities are key to expanding access to healthcare. Human capital and public health can be developed side by side. It is also vital to extend the reach of public hospitals to help deliver sustainable healthcare.
SUSTAINABLE
In its work for sustainable quality of life the foundation adheres to United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 3: Good Health & Well-Being.
We focus on improving access to quality healthcare for underprivileged and vulnerable groups, at risk from maternal mortality, preventable accidents, and communicable and non-communicable diseases. These communities also suffer from major epidemics such as COVID-19, HIV, tuberculosis, and malaria.
Dhanin Tawee Chearavanont Foundation
is a charity registered in Hong Kong in 2015 and Thailand in 2018. The foundation helps underprivileged and vulnerable groups access high-quality public healthcare by working with national, regional, and global partners with experience and expertise. By sponsoring the Global Fund, for example, we have boosted the capacity of Thailand’s health networks to control the spread of drug-resistant malaria. This initiative will improve the lives and well-being of people in remote areas such as Thailand’s borders with Myanmar and Cambodia and its three southern border provinces. We have also worked with Umphang Hospital to expand public health services in remote areas.
